Midwest Medical Experiences Growth: Hires Ed Matteson As New Chief Operating Officer

OMAHA, NEBRASKA (September 20, 2019) – Invigorating business growth is no stranger to Midwest Medical, one of the largest ambulance transportation firms in the nation and the biggest in its home state of Nebraska. The company is excited to announce another step forward with the appointment of their new Chief Operating Officer (COO), Ed Matteson. As COO, Matteson is poised to help oversee the expansion of the company across the country.

“I would like to expand on the legacy footprint that our organization has already carved out for itself. We’ve become a real influential organization, and I’d like to help lead it into the next phase of growth; locally, regionally, and nationally,” said Ed Matteson, COO of Midwest Medical.

Matteson is equipped with years of EMS industry knowledge and has experience from working for several EMS companies. He has a proven track record of making forward-thinking decisions and creating new opportunities for enhancing health services and programs. Standing behind the new COO is a dedicated Midwest Medical team that is ready to start the next chapter. Midwest Medical CEO, Jeff Shullaw, expressed that he is excited to welcome Ed to the team.

“The energy here is amazing! It is a very engaging, spirited organization. There’s a great level of excitement around the growth and trajectory of innovation at this company,” said Matteson. “Everybody’s got a role to play, but there is a lot of team collaboration that goes on. The entire team has a voice and weighs in on programs and initiatives.”

One initiative the company wants to focus on is expanding into more ambulance services. Midwest Medical plans to provide high-quality, financially stable, and efficient ambulance service to communities in rural and urban areas. Another program that the company plans to leverage and promote is its proprietary patient throughput management system for customers, loosely known as “The Portal.” This system allows for greater transparency during the movement of patients over anything else that is currently available in the local market.

Along with creating new methods to meet the needs of customers, Midwest Medical will continue expanding its presence across the country. Over the past few years, the company has grown organically by adding some major national healthcare systems and through several strategic acquisitions.
